Self-Compassion

Self-Compassion is giving the same kindness and care to ourselves that we would give to others and is of utmost importance for our long-term well-being. It involves extending compassion to one’s self in instances of perceived inadequacy, failure or general suffering. Having self-compassion means being able to relate to yourself in a way that is forgiving, accepting and loving when situations might be less-optimal. It is the ability to turn understanding, acceptance and love inward to self. Self-compassion is a way of emotionally recharging your batteries. It allows us to fill up our internal reserves, so that we have more to give to others in need.
